Couples & friends massage in Amsterdam
A couples massage at The Pause Spa is a shared visit, not a shared table. You arrive together at Warmoesstraat 155, in the centre of Amsterdam, and two therapists begin at the same time. Each of you has a separate room, with your own pace and your own pressure.
It is for partners, for friends, and for a parent and adult child who want the same quiet hour. You do not have to be a couple, and you do not have to book the same treatment. Each person chooses. The price is the sum of the two treatments. When you both choose the same one, that is twice the price for one person.
How does a duo massage work?
You check in together. We ask each of you what you would like, how the day has sat in your body, and how much pressure feels right. Then you go to your own rooms. The treatments start together, so neither of you is left waiting while the other is still on the table.
Separate rooms are the point of the visit. You get privacy, a pace that is yours, and the freedom to choose a longer treatment than the person you came with. One of you can take the 90-minute relaxing massage while the other takes 45 minutes for the back, neck and shoulders. We line the start up. You meet again in the studio when you are done, and you leave together.
The Pause is a professional wellness salon, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 42062939. The visit is massage and lymphatic drainage only.
Which treatments can you choose?
Each person chooses one of these. The prices below are the regular duo prices, twice the price of one person.
Duo relaxing massage
60 or 90 min · €160 / €230
Warm coconut oil and long, unhurried strokes over the body. On its own this massage is €80 for 60 minutes and €115 for 90 minutes.
Duo back, neck & shoulder
45 min · €120
A focused massage for the places desk work and travel tend to gather. On its own it is €60.
Duo Brazilian lymphatic drainage
75 min · €200
Light, rhythmic movements in the Brazilian tradition, given by Brazilian therapists. It can leave you feeling lighter and refreshed. On its own it is €100.
If you each choose a different treatment, add the two individual prices. A 60-minute relaxing massage with a 45-minute back, neck and shoulder massage is €80 + €60. These are the standing prices. Any short-term offer is shown separately and is not part of this list.
Who is it for?
People book this when they are in Amsterdam together: a couple on a city break, two friends, a birthday, a mother and daughter. You do not need to be partners. If one of you wants lymphatic drainage and the other wants a shorter massage for the neck and shoulders, that is a normal booking.
Say so when you reserve, and book two appointments for the same start time. The studio is small and quiet on purpose. It suits two people who want an unrushed hour in the city centre, close to Amsterdam Centraal and Dam Square, more than it suits a large group.

A visit for two is a straightforward gift. Call +31 6 8744 4632 and we will help you arrange it. A gift card is not listed on this website yet, so this page does not pretend there is a voucher to buy online. Ask by phone what is possible, and book the visit once you know.
Practical
Book online through the scheduler on the booking page. Come five to ten minutes early so you can arrive without rushing. The studio is at Warmoesstraat 155, 1012 JC Amsterdam, in the city centre, between Amsterdam Centraal and Dam Square and close to Nieuwmarkt.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday and Sunday 12:00–18:00, by appointment. The phone is +31 6 8744 4632. Wear something easy to change out of. You undress to your own comfort and stay covered with a towel. Drink some water afterwards.
If you are pregnant, or if you have a medical condition such as a fever, a skin infection, a recent injury, thrombosis, or anything you are being treated for, tell us before you book and speak to your doctor first. The Pause is a wellness salon, not a medical practice.
